The Japanese automaker Nissan has introduced a new safety technology system for cars. This system features sensor radar and onboard computers that assess the vehicle’s speed and its distance from the car in front.
When the system detects the potential for a head-on collision with another vehicle, the accelerator pedal will automatically lift the driver’s foot, signaling that it is necessary to move the foot over to apply the brakes. If the sensors detect any possible collision and see that the driver’s foot has already lifted off the accelerator pedal, the braking system will activate automatically. According to Nissan, this system will enhance driving safety since studies show that more than half of car accidents occur due to driver inattention, drowsiness, or negligence.
