Scientists at the John Innes Centre in the UK have successfully utilized the Vigna unguiculata virus, which causes yellow and black spot disease on peas, as a material in nanotechnology.
This virus, measuring 30 nanometers, is not infectious or harmful to humans and animals. Researchers have linked these viruses together to form a “scaffold,” allowing 240 organic compounds, each containing an iron atom, to attach and create a new nanomaterial.
