A new technology developed by researchers at the AIST (National Institute of Advanced Industrial Science and Technology) in Japan will soon enable the creation of three-dimensional images in mid-air.
This technology involves projecting high-intensity laser beams into the air. These beams are invisible to the naked eye but can transform gas molecules in a specific area of the air into plasma that emits visible light.
By projecting multiple laser columns into the air and arranging the plasma light-emitting points appropriately, scientists have been able to create simple three-dimensional images in space.
In the future, with further improvements, a laser projector utilizing this technology will be able to emit multiple laser beams simultaneously into the air, allowing for the creation of more complex images with higher resolution. If perfected, this technology could be used to generate dazzling advertising images suspended in mid-air.
