In conjunction with the postponement of the Windows Vista release to 2007, Microsoft officially announced yesterday that the launch of Office 2007 will also be pushed back to next year.
The primary reason for this latest move by Microsoft is that the developers hope to finalize the software’s source code within this year and conduct testing in several large enterprises by the end of the year before its official launch next year.
“However, we have decided to release Windows Vista in January 2007,” a Microsoft representative stated. “We believe that this will create more convenience for users and businesses.”
Therefore, within just a week, Microsoft has announced two delays for the launch plans of its two flagship products. This gives PC manufacturers additional time before they need to upgrade and update the software applications on their products. However, this is not entirely unexpected, as it was anticipated beforehand.

Last November, Microsoft released the first beta version of Office 2007, codenamed Office 12.
