Recently, many heron and stork gardens have formed and emerged in Ca Mau province, particularly in the cajuput forests and the gardens of local households, with large flocks and a diverse range of species.
According to relevant authorities, the ecological environment in the province has significantly improved over time; the cajuput forests and many farmers’ gardens are being steadily restored without major disturbances. Factors such as available food sources and natural freshwater ensure the needs and living conditions of herons and storks, leading them to gather in flocks to reside, build nests, and raise their young.
Ca Mau province is planning to protect these heron and stork gardens while implementing measures to attract larger flocks, aiming to develop these areas into significant bird sanctuaries in the near future.
