The production facility of EX Robots in China is home to numerous humanoid robots at various stages of development, as shown in a video shared by Evolving AI, reported by Interesting Engineering on May 9. At last year’s World Robot Conference, the company showcased a series of robots that amazed attendees with their lifelike appearance and realistic movements, accurately mimicking those around them.
Founded in 2009, EX Robots began developing humanoid robots in 2016. Today, EX Robots specializes in the research, development, manufacturing, sales, and service of intelligent humanoid robots. In 2021, the company opened the EX Future Science and Technology Museum in Liaoning Province, the first domestic robot museum. The entire museum provides comprehensive robot services, including a bioengineering experiment module, an artificial intelligence robot research center, a robot manufacturing center, and many advanced exhibition areas.

In 2023, EX Robots achieved a breakthrough by creating the world’s lightest humanoid robot utilizing advanced silicone skin simulation technology. The company’s advancements in this field rely on modern techniques such as 3D scanning, digital design, and 3D printing, positioning them at the forefront of artificial intelligence and humanoid robotics. These essential techniques help develop realistic skin layers and flexible movements for the robots.
In the video filmed at their production facility, humanoid robots are created to mimic service staff across various industries. Throughout the workshop, female robots are lined up, dressed in blouses and trousers, while nearby, a tree-like structure with multiple arms performs synchronized waving and rotating movements.
EX Robots particularly focuses on developing humanoid robots that communicate with humans and serve the community. They are utilized in various environments, including science museums, tourist spots, public service centers, hotel lobbies, educational settings, and corporate environments. In addition to EX Robots, many other Chinese startups like Unitree, UBTech/Baidu, Astribot, mX, Kepler, and the Beijing Humanoid Robot Initiative Center are also launching advanced robotic products.
