A dashcam from a car in the United States captured footage of a tornado occurring right in front of it. This tornado destroyed and lifted a house in the blink of an eye, demonstrating just how dangerous sudden extreme weather phenomena can be.
Meteorologists have referred to the weather event that took place in late April in Nebraska as “historic” because six tornadoes occurred within a single week.
Yesterday, May 6, a clip from the dashcam of a car parked near where a tornado passed was posted on social media, garnering hundreds of thousands of views within just a few hours. The video shows a house in Nebraska being “swept away” so quickly that it’s hard to comprehend.

According to U.S. news outlets, this video captures the tornado that occurred on April 26. That day, strong gusts of wind caused significant chaos in Nebraska, leading the National Weather Service (NWS) to issue a record number of warnings.
Mr. Taylor Nicolaisen, a meteorologist at the NWS, stated: “This is indeed a historic event, something that one might only witness once in a lifetime.” He also confirmed that this type of weather is “deadly dangerous.”
The gusts also swept a few people from their homes, but fortunately, they only sustained minor injuries.

According to ABS-CBN News, the tornado that lifted the house in the video had wind speeds of up to 254 km/h, akin to a superstorm. This house belonged to Garner Industries. At the time the tornado struck, dozens of workers were inside, and thankfully, all survived despite the house being torn apart.
Meteorologists advise that during thunderstorms, residents should seek shelter and refrain from attempting to drive, even with rain gear. As the video illustrates, during high winds, many objects can be tossed around and blown away, which can strike pedestrians and potentially cause injuries or worse.
