According to the organizing committee of the annual Vietnam Software Product Awards, this year’s focus is on the practical application effectiveness or export potential of the products. Starting in 2006, the Vietnam Software Business Association (VINASA) will award stars to the honored products.
The Sao Khue organizing committee states that products that are perfect in technology, efficiency, utility, user-friendliness, low error rates, and good usability will be awarded 5 stars. 4 stars are designated for effective products, while well-utilized software selected through preliminary rounds will receive 3 stars.
Mr. Pham Tan Cong, General Secretary of VINASA, believes that the star rating system will stimulate participants to engage in a truly exciting competition. “Sao Khue 2006 aims for the highest goal of developing and applying software achievements that serve society. We award stars to products to help users have an initial orientation in evaluating and selecting software,” stated Mr. Pham Tan Cong.
Software products receiving 5 stars will be introduced, showcased, and prioritized for recommendation by VINASA for the target audiences that the association advises.
The judging committee will evaluate and review each nomination file according to proper procedures. For groups of software products and solutions, selections will be based on five major criteria: applicability and effectiveness of application, technology and product quality, innovation with breakthrough potential, market and support services, as well as the quality of the application files and legal compliance. For individuals and organizations that have made significant contributions to the development of information technology (IT), selection will be based on criteria such as achievements in planning or implementing software industry development policies, as well as outstanding results in IT development at localities, industries, or fields they are responsible for…
The Sao Khue Awards are an annual activity organized by VINASA in coordination with the National Steering Committee for IT and the Ministry of Information and Communications to select exemplary software across various fields, including state management, enterprise management, finance, banking, healthcare, and education. The organizing committee hopes that the Sao Khue awards will motivate the growth of Vietnam’s software industry and promote the application of information technology (IT) in various sectors.
