On April 8, 2006, the BK-Eagle team from Ho Chi Minh City University of Technology, the winner of the “Tent” (Specialized Information) award at the 2005 Vietnamese Student Programming Olympiad, will travel to San Antonio, Texas, USA, to participate in the finals of the global programming competition ACM/ICPC.
The Vietnamese team consists of three students: Nguyễn Tường Quân, Nguyễn Đan Thanh, and Phạm Hữu Ngôn, along with a coach. They will compete for a duration of five hours. The competition is scheduled for April 12, and results will be updated on www.itweek.org.vn.
Mr. Nguyễn Long, the team leader, stated that Vietnam’s goal is to rank in the top 20 in the world. In December 2006, Vietnam will host the Asia-Pacific regional qualifying round of the international programming competition ACM/ICPC at the University of Technology (Vietnam National University).
