According to global media reports, to celebrate the 200th anniversary of the founding of Jalisco, Dulces Mazapán de la Rosa created a massive gummy candy weighing up to 648 kg. This unique candy was displayed in an outdoor area at Plaza Fundadores in Guadalajara, the capital of Jalisco.
To produce this colossal candy, Dulces Mazapán de la Rosa stated that the company mobilized around 100 workers, with preparation processes lasting 53 hours. The pouring of the gummy mixture into the mold took nearly two hours due to its large size. The gummy candy was then left to rest for 48 hours before being evaluated by a representative from the Guinness World Records.
A representative from the Guinness World Records announced that the gummy candy weighs 648 kg, heavier than a Steinway D274 piano, which weighs 480 kg. With this weight, the gummy candy from Dulces Mazapán de la Rosa broke the previous world record set by Berkhamsted School in the UK in 2019, which produced a candy weighing 93 kg.
After establishing the Guinness World Record, the gummy candy was cut into pieces for event attendees to enjoy and was distributed to the local community.
