This program is in collaboration with the Vietnam Post and Telecommunications Group (VNPT), Vietnam Foreign Trade Bank (Vietcombank), and companies such as Microsoft, Acer, Lenovo, along with 22 Vietnamese computer companies.
There are many options provided in this program. Participants, referred to as “8X,” can purchase desktop or laptop computers. The program mainly focuses on utilizing high-tech products, featuring quality computers with powerful processing configurations: high-end Pentium D processors with Centrino Duo technology, and various laptop brands including Acer and Lenovo, as well as all domestic computer brands.
In addition to the primary goal of selling computers, the “Generation 8X Computers” program will host several ancillary activities such as: a computer assembly competition (organized by Intel in collaboration with the Ho Chi Minh City and Da Nang Youth Unions), exchange forums, and other combined programs including: giving away prepaid internet cards, Vietcombank ATM Connect24 cards, and lucky draws (prizes include: 3 trips to Singapore and Malaysia, 10 iPod Nano digital music players, 30 CPU cooling units, 200 USB drives, etc.)
The “Generation 8X Computers” program will officially take place in 8 provinces across the country: Hanoi, Ho Chi Minh City, Da Nang, Hue, Nha Trang, Dong Nai, Can Tho, and Ca Mau. The program will run from April 15 until the end of June 2006.
