Last Thursday, Microsoft revealed several new upgrades to its free security software, Microsoft Defender, including enhancements in the user interface and improved detection capabilities.
Other changes include updates to the way alerts are presented to users, improvements in real-time protection features, and better support for 64-bit systems.
Windows Defender Beta 2 is still in the testing phase and is considered an additional feature for Windows XP, 2000, and Server 2003. However, the finalized version will be a feature of Windows Vista when this operating system officially launches at the end of next year.
“In the coming time, we will continue to upgrade the detection and removal capabilities for unwanted software in Windows Defender.”
