The open-source software organization has just issued a warning about a series of issues in Firefox, the browser that has recently surpassed a 10% market share, along with some related products. The most serious flaw could give hackers the opportunity to inject harmful code into systems.
Other glitches are primarily exploitable by hackers to launch online scams or steal sensitive information from computers running Firefox.
Mozilla’s products experience errors when users configure security settings in JavaScript. The problem also occurs when the CSS (Cascading Style Sheet) program operates, allowing hackers to manipulate code on the computer. The U.S. Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Security Agency (CISA) has detailed these vulnerabilities, while Secunia has also listed 21 vulnerabilities.
Mozilla recommends that users upgrade to Firefox 1.5.0.2, Thunderbird 1.5.0.2, and SeaMonkey 1.0.1 as soon as possible to protect their systems from online attacks.
