Peach blossoms not only beautify the landscape and create a traditional Tet atmosphere but also have many health and beauty benefits.
Guide to Beauty and Health Remedies from Peach Blossoms
Peach blossoms are not only a symbol of spring but also a unique medicinal and cosmetic ingredient in traditional medicine, according to Dr. CK2 Huỳnh Tấn Vũ from the University of Medicine and Pharmacy in Ho Chi Minh City – Campus 3.
Traditional medicine recognizes peach blossoms as neutral in nature, bitter in taste, and associated with the liver and stomach meridians. They have functions such as promoting blood circulation, diuretic properties, alleviating constipation, and treating conditions like edema, phlegm retention, and menstrual irregularities. This flower is also used to treat diseases like measles and chickenpox.
However, pregnant women should not use them as they can cause excitement and stimulate the uterus. Dried peach blossoms, crushed and taken with hot water or a bit of alcohol, can help with bowel movements, eliminate phlegm retention, and treat cold-induced itching.
