Vomiting or blood in urine, bloating after meals, difficulty swallowing… may be signs of stomach cancer, according to Learnaboutcancer.
Discomfort or stomach pain, vomiting blood is one of the warning signs of stomach cancer.
In addition to the symptoms above, stomach cancer may also present the following signs:
- Loss of appetite: If you are someone who enjoys food and suddenly find yourself losing interest in meals, it’s important to consult a doctor. Stomach ulcers can also lead to a loss of appetite, which is a risk factor for stomach cancer.
- Heartburn: Heartburn can be complex and may indicate cancer, often accompanied by abdominal pain or discomfort in the upper abdomen. Individuals experiencing heartburn may have stomach ulcers, meaning they have high stomach acid levels, which increases the risk of stomach cancer. Heartburn manifests as a burning sensation, nausea, or even chest pain, making self-diagnosis challenging. If it occurs frequently, seek medical evaluation.
- Blood in stool: This symptom often appears in the later stages of the disease but can also occur early on. Blood in the stool may result from inflammation caused by a tumor in the stomach.
- Fatigue: Patients may experience fatigue due to blood loss, along with sudden weight loss. Blood loss can lead to anemia, resulting in a low red blood cell count, which may be a source of exhaustion.
Stomach cancer can be treated through: surgery, chemotherapy, or radiation therapy.
