Recently, WILLTEX Corporation based in Yokohama, Japan, has stirred excitement in the online community by launching a bag that can heat food like a microwave.
This product, named “Willcook”, is made from an advanced fabric developed by Sanki Consys Co. Ltd. of Japan. At first glance, it looks just like a regular crossbody bag or laptop case. However, true to its name, the bag can heat items placed inside to temperatures of up to 80°C in just 5 minutes, just like a real microwave.
The bag weighs 160g and comes with a power supply that weighs over 120g, making it relatively lightweight and easy to carry, even on long trips or camping outings. (Photo: WILLTEX).
The key feature that allows Willcook to easily heat food lies in its stretchable fabric, which generates heat by drawing energy from the accompanying battery. This fabric combines stretchable wires with conductive fibers, resulting in a product that is flexible, soft, and lightweight like regular fabric, yet capable of providing quick and even heat.
The accompanying battery lasts for 8 hours on a full charge and includes a small pocket on the side to store the battery. (Photo: WILLTEX).
After powering it on, the device heats up to 80°C in just 5 minutes. Additionally, users can set the temperature from 40°C to 250°C through a mobile app. This product is particularly suitable for outdoor enthusiasts and mothers who want to keep food and drinks warm for their children while out and about.

When not in heating mode, you can still use Willcook as a regular bag or an insulated bag for cold drinks in summer, as the fabric has excellent thermal insulation properties.
