The man reportedly received around 90 Covid-19 vaccine shots at vaccination centers in Saxony, eastern Germany, over several months until he was apprehended by police earlier this month, according to the German news agency DPA on April 3.
The identity of the man, who hails from the city of Magdeburg in Saxony-Anhalt (also in eastern Germany), has not been disclosed in accordance with the country’s privacy regulations.
The suspect has not been arrested but is under investigation for the illegal issuance of vaccination cards and document forgery, DPA reported.
He was caught at a vaccination center in Eilenburg, Saxony, while attempting to get vaccinated for the second consecutive day. Police seized several blank vaccination cards from him and initiated criminal proceedings.
Authorities stated that each time he visited a vaccination center, the man brought new blank vaccination documents. After being vaccinated, he removed the pages containing information related to the shots and sold them to those unwilling to receive the vaccine.
It remains unclear what effects the approximately 90 Covid-19 vaccine doses, from various brands, administered to the man may have on his health.
German police have conducted numerous raids related to the forgery of vaccination certificates in recent months. Many individuals refuse to get vaccinated but seek vaccination certificates to participate more easily in public life and access restaurants, theaters, swimming pools, or workplaces.
