On October 25, in Hanoi, American professor, doctor, and scientist J.D. Constable affirmed: “Agent Orange/dioxin is absolutely not a herbicide. Dioxin is a byproduct that accompanies the herbicidal chemicals, and it is a toxin known for a long time due to its harmful effects on human health.
This danger is first manifested from production facilities. The persistence of this substance in soil and sediment can last for hundreds of years, significantly impacting not only the ecological environment but also human health, particularly concerning reproduction.”
Professor Tran Xuan Thu – Vice President and General Secretary of the Vietnam Association of Victims of Agent Orange/Dioxin – stated: “Professor J.D. Constable is one of the first American scientists to come to Vietnam to observe and study the harmful effects of Agent Orange/dioxin.”
