In an interview with our reporter, Mr. Hoàng Văn Thám, Deputy Head of the Phú Thọ Animal Health Sub-Department, announced that from November 13 to 14, an outbreak of avian influenza was reported in a poultry farm in Đồng Trác village, Đồng Thịnh commune, located in the mountainous Yên Lập district.
The Animal Health Sub-Department took samples for testing, and on the afternoon of November 17, it was confirmed that the flock of geese had died due to the avian influenza outbreak. Immediately after the results were announced, the Chairman of the People’s Committee of Phú Thọ Province declared a disease outbreak in Đồng Thịnh commune (Yên Lập) on the evening of November 17.
On the same evening, the Chairman of the People’s Committee of Hòa Bình Province also declared a disease outbreak in Hòa Sơn commune, Lương Sơn district. According to Mr. Nguyễn Văn Gừng, head of the Hòa Bình Animal Health Sub-Department, on November 15, the outbreak appeared in three poultry farms in Hòa Sơn commune. The Animal Health Sub-Department has conducted the destruction of over 2,100 poultry and waterfowl in these three farms.
Additionally, on the evening of the same day, the Department of Animal Health reported that the outbreak continues to spread (mainly in northern provinces), affecting 96 communes in 57 districts and towns across 16 provinces and cities, resulting in the death and destruction of nearly 600,000 birds. However, it was also noted that “two localities have managed to control the outbreaks”: Hanoi has not seen an outbreak for the past 23 days, while Bạc Liêu has not reported any new outbreaks for 46 days…
