Adobe Systems has recently launched a beta version of the Adobe Lightroom application. This app is designed to provide a comprehensive photography workflow for professional photographers.
Adobe Lightroom features a completely new user interface focused primarily on image handling. The Lights-Out mode offers users a control panel along with tools to blur the background, bringing the main subject of the photo into focus. The Identity Plate allows photographers to apply their “personal branding” within the app, while the Quick One-to-One Zoom enables instant magnification of fine details in the image.
Adobe’s Camera Raw technology allows Lightroom to support over 100 different camera types, and the app also includes a tool for converting raw images into a simplified workflow. Other features of Lightroom include a new split toning control tool that enables the creation of richer black-and-white photos, along with the capability to convert files in Digital Negative (DNG) format…
Adobe Lightroom also allows users to browse their photos in slideshow mode, with options to store and transfer the size and position of images directly to Macromedia Flash, Adobe Portable Document Format (PDF), and HTML.
Initially, Adobe Lightroom is being tested on Macintosh systems. The official version of Lightroom, which is expected to launch by the end of this year, will fully support both Windows and Macintosh platforms.
