The phenomenon of itching, scientifically known as folliculitis, often begins when hair follicles are affected due to blockage or friction from clothing, even during shaving.

On our bodies, small bumps often appear around one or two hair follicles, predominantly on the face, scalp, thighs, legs, and groin area.
When affected, hair follicles can easily fall victim to bacterial attacks, leading to itching. If it doesn’t resolve on its own, doctors typically recommend applying antibiotics to the infected area.
While it may not always be easy to prevent this condition, the following tips may help you manage it:
* Avoid tight clothing: Steer clear of tight-fitting clothes, especially jeans and athletic wear. While they may be fashionable, opt for sizes that do not cause excessive friction against the skin.
* Be more cautious when shaving: Use an electric razor or replace your razor blade regularly. Always ensure the shaving area is clean and avoid any nicks or cuts. If you are a woman and frequently experience itching, consider using hair removal products available on the market or try other methods.
* Use a hot tub: If you have a hot tub, make sure to clean it regularly and, if necessary, scrub it with chlorine water.
