Participants at the Thu Duc Innovation Fest 2024 will have the opportunity to interact with AI, watch drone performances, and explore the urban planning of Thu Duc City through a 3D model.
The International Festival of Science, Technology, and Innovation in Thu Duc City is scheduled to take place from November 15 to 18 at the Saigon Riverside Park. This inaugural event, organized by the Thu Duc City People’s Committee in collaboration with HTV Cafe Tek, will feature over 150 booths showcasing technology from research institutions, universities, and businesses.

The technologies expected to be showcased at the Thu Duc Innovation Fest 2024 include artificial intelligence (AI) transforming into singers and DJs to entertain the public. These AI artists will engage in conversation with real people to enhance interaction and showcase technology. Over 30 robots will be stationed at the festival to provide information and guide attendees through the event. Additionally, the festival will feature large-scale drone displays highlighting light formations and small-scale drone races organized by the hosts.
During this event, the Thu Duc City People’s Committee will introduce a 3D model providing information about the overall planning and functional subdivisions for local development. The government will hold a workshop to gather insights from domestic and international experts and scientists regarding the development direction of a highly interactive innovation urban area in the East. The goal is to foster a spirit of research and innovation in technology among the public, especially the youth.
At the press briefing on October 1, Mr. Mai Huu Quyet, Vice Chairman of the Thu Duc City People’s Committee, stated that in addition to corporate technologies, research products from institutions will also be introduced for public experience, allowing scientists to assess feasibility and market potential. Therefore, the festival adopts the slogan “From lab to life”, aiming to bring research results from the laboratory into real life.
“We hope that technology developers view the festival as the fastest platform to showcase their products to the public. This aligns with the vision of establishing Thu Duc as the center of technology innovation in Ho Chi Minh City and nationwide,” Mr. Quyet said, adding that the Thu Duc Innovation Fest will be held annually.

Within the festival’s framework, there will be two competitions: Innovating for the Future of Thu Duc City – Thu Duc The Next Innovator 2024 and Design Thinking – Open Innovation in Thu Duc 2024, showcasing technological products created by students. Interested individuals can participate in over 100 experiential activities, music performances, competitions, trade events, and technology presentations, both in-person and online.
The Thu Duc Innovation Fest 2024 aims to create connections and share knowledge among experts, entrepreneurs, investors, and technology enthusiasts. It is also an opportunity for innovative businesses and top technology applications from Vietnam and around the world to engage with the public through experiential, recreational, and shopping activities based on technology.
