The giant airplane model designed by Oscar Vinals will feature three decks, capable of accommodating 800 passengers and staying airborne continuously.
The aircraft, named “Progress Eagle,” is designed to resemble a colossal flying hotel, with a wingspan of 96 meters and a length of 80 meters. This aircraft is the brainchild of leading Spanish designer Oscar Vinals. If constructed, it would surpass the Airbus A380-800 (73 meters) and the Boeing 747 (70 meters). Its updated version, named “One Flight”, will include multiple cabins instead of rows of seats like conventional passenger planes, according to Sun.

The standard version of the airplane will carry 800 passengers, while the special version will only accommodate 300 passengers per flight. However, One Flight will offer passengers the ultimate flying experience with access to luxurious amenities such as restaurants, spas, cinemas, shops, and a casino. The cockpit is located on the second deck, allowing for a spacious fuselage and creating a special observation deck. Flying at an altitude of 12,192 meters, passengers can enjoy nearly 180-degree panoramic views of the sky, thanks to the bulbous design.
To provide passengers with a premium travel experience, seats will be distributed throughout the three decks, featuring economy, business, and pilot classes. Passengers purchasing special pilot class tickets will have the opportunity to sit at the nose of the aircraft for scenic views.
One of the most impressive features of this modern jet is its fuel source for the six large engines. The airplane design aims to eliminate fossil fuels and utilize hydrogen fuel cells. This will enable the aircraft to be self-sufficient and significantly reduce energy consumption compared to modern airplanes. The roof and wings of the aircraft will be covered with photovoltaic panels combined with a wind turbine on the fuselage to generate the necessary energy to fully charge the battery. The aircraft can remain airborne continuously, using a power supply based on satellites that collect solar energy.
Although the design of the Progress Eagle is highly appealing, designer Vinals stated that current available technology only meets half the requirements to turn this airplane model into reality. He shared that this design is an evolved version of another idea, the Sky Whale, and can only be manufactured after 2030. Previously, Vinals aspired to create the HSP Magnavem, a large two-deck nuclear passenger plane, and the Hyper Sting, a supersonic aircraft twice as fast as the Concorde. However, to date, no organization or entity has announced plans to produce or test his “monstrous” designs.
