A 25-Year-Old Indonesian Woman Dies After Testing Positive for Avian Influenza, Health Official Reports
Endang Mamahit, a senior research expert from the Indonesian Ministry of Health, announced today, November 30, that a 25-year-old woman has died after testing positive for avian influenza. The woman was receiving treatment at Sulianto Saroso Hospital in Jakarta, which specializes in treating avian influenza patients, and she passed away on November 29. This information has also been confirmed by the hospital’s leadership. If corroborated by the laboratory in Hong Kong, Indonesia will have reported a total of 8 fatalities due to avian influenza to date.
