Apple has just announced a new model of the MacBook Pro laptop, equipped with a 17-inch display and powered by a high-end dual-core Intel mobile chip.
The new laptop line features the Intel Core Duo 2.16 GHz chip, offering processing speeds up to five times faster than the PowerBook G4 series, while also significantly reducing weight. It is equipped with an iSight camera for video conferencing.
Apple claims that the 17-inch screen of the MacBook Pro is 36% brighter than other laptop screens. Additionally, the laptop’s graphics capability and sharp image quality are enhanced by the ATI Mobility Radeon X1600 256MB graphics card.
The hard drive of the MacBook Pro is protected by Apple’s Sudden Motion Sensor technology, which guards against shocks. The connectivity features of the laptop are diverse, including one FireWire 800 port, one FireWire 400 port, three USB 2.0 ports, Bluetooth technology, and 802.11g Wi-Fi.
Following the 15-inch MacBook Pro line, the 17-inch MacBook Pro models are the first mobile Macs to integrate the Intel chip. This new laptop line is available for purchase at a price of $2,799.
