According to Apple, the new iMac model will feature a 17-inch liquid crystal display, incorporate the latest Intel Core Duo chip, and come pre-installed with the newest version of the Macintosh operating system.
The iMac model will replace the eMac, Apple’s previous PC version. It will also be equipped with various multimedia applications to help users create websites, blogs, and manage photos.
It is known that Apple has implemented a pricing policy for computers aimed at students and teachers since the early 1980s to compete with similar programs from IBM, Dell, and HP in the lucrative education market.
Approximately 12% of Apple’s net revenue in 2005 came from the education market in the United States, which includes elementary, secondary, and high schools.
