Asus has recently launched the Gigabyte W431UD laptop series, which comes with more comprehensive features compared to the Asus S5200A series. A standout feature of this laptop is its integrated DVD drive.
The W431UD measures 32.8 x 24.4 x 3.15 cm and weighs nearly 2.3 kg. Additionally, it is equipped with an Intel Pentium M “Dothan” 90nm processor running at a speed of 1.73GHz on an Intel i915GM motherboard, along with 512MB DDR RAM operating at 333MHz and a 60GB hard drive. The W431UD is based on Centrino technology, which also includes Wi-Fi 802.11b/g and Intel’s PRO 2200BG wireless connectivity.
The display of the W431UD features a 14.1-inch LCD screen with a resolution of up to 280 x 768 pixels. The keyboard is designed according to standard laptop specifications, featuring very thin keys that enhance usability.
Moreover, the W431UD is compatible with all essential standard ports, including: a VGA output port, four USB 2.0 ports, one IEEE-1394 peripheral connection port, a slot for SD/MMC/Memory Stick cards, two audio output ports and a microphone input, an RJ45 LAN connection port supporting 10/1000, a modem connection port, and finally, a PCMCIA expansion slot.
The W431UD also includes several LED indicators for the battery, hard drive, and other information. This means it will notify users about what actions to take if the laptop is closed.
