In response to the increasing demand for medical examinations and tests, Bạch Mai Hospital has recently put into operation the Modular Analytics biochemical testing system, valued at $420,000, which can perform 170 different types of tests.
This testing system will enhance the accuracy and safety of tests, minimizing manual tasks that were previously required.
With this system, the hospital can perform 170 types of tests, ranging from the most common tests to high-tech analyses using a single sample. Previously, to test different samples, the hospital had to conduct multiple procedures over several sessions.
This is a modern technology that assists the Biochemistry Department, marking the initial steps towards automation at Bạch Mai Hospital and laying the groundwork for the future development of a comprehensive laboratory information management network. The modern and complete testing system features intelligent operational processes, combining flexibility and high efficiency with the ability to automatically rerun and support additional programmed tests.
Notably, the prices for tests conducted on this modern testing system will still adhere to the rates set by the Ministry of Health.
According to Dr. Bùi Thành Chi, Deputy Director of Bạch Mai Hospital, the number of patients visiting the hospital for examinations and treatments is currently around 5,000 per day, with a high demand for testing. In 2005, the number of biochemical tests reached 2.2 million, and it is projected to increase to 2.6 million in 2006.
