The meteorological agency forecasts that Typhoon Trami will enter the South China Sea on October 24 and reach maximum intensity of level 12 as it approaches the waters around the Paracel Islands.
The National Center for Meteorological and Hydrological Forecasting reported that at 7 AM on October 23, the typhoon named internationally as Trami (in Vietnamese, Trà Mi) was located over the eastern waters of Luzon Island (Philippines). The strongest winds near the center of the storm were at level 9 (75-88 km/h), with gusts up to level 11. The storm is moving in a northwestern direction at a speed of approximately 20 km/h.

Forecast for the next 24 hours indicates that the storm will be over land to the west of Luzon Island (Philippines) and continue moving northwest at a speed of about 15 km/h. The strongest winds near the center of the storm will be at level 10, with gusts up to level 12.

The impact of the storm will be felt in the eastern waters of the North China Sea, with winds reaching levels 6-7, increasing to levels 8-9 (62-88 km/h) from the morning of October 24, with areas near the storm’s center experiencing winds of levels 10-11 (89-117 km/h), gusts reaching level 14, and wave heights of 4-6 meters, with waves near the storm’s center reaching 6-8 meters, resulting in severe sea disturbances.
Based on the weather situation from the evening of October 23 to October 31 in mainland Vietnam, the meteorological agency noted that from the night of October 24 to October 26, the Northern region will have no rain at night, with some areas experiencing fog in the early morning, and sunny weather during the day. Nights and mornings will be cold, with some mountainous areas experiencing chilly conditions. From the night of October 26 to October 28, there is a possibility of scattered showers and thunderstorms in the Northeastern region, with localized heavy rainfall. Starting from October 29, this area may see light rain in some places, with sunny weather during the day.
The North and Central Coastal regions will experience scattered showers and thunderstorms, with the potential for widespread heavy rain from October 26 to 29.
The South Central Coast, Central Highlands, and Southern regions will also see scattered showers and thunderstorms, particularly on the evenings of October 26 to 29.
