BenQ is currently accelerating the launch of the world’s first computer monitor featuring an HDMI connection. The 24-inch FP241W monitor is scheduled to officially hit the market in September this year.
The FP241W is regarded as the first HDMI-enabled high-resolution computer monitor globally, fully supporting 1080p high-definition resolution.
HDMI stands for High-Definition Multimedia Interface, which is a standard for digital video/audio communication. HDMI has become a widely adopted standard, supporting bandwidth connections up to 5GB, facilitating the transmission of high-definition digital video/audio signals. Unlike other standards, HDMI signals are uncompressed, ensuring exceptionally high audio and visual quality.
The default resolution of the 24-inch FP241W monitor will be 1,920 x 1,200. The monitor features multi-directional rotation and operates at a 24-bit color resolution with a contrast ratio of 1000:1 and brightness of 500cd/m². In addition to the HDMI connection interface, the monitor also supports two USB connection ports.
The expected retail price of the FP241W is approximately $1,250.
Graphics cards that support HDMI connections have also started appearing on the market.
On July 20, Tul became the first graphics card manufacturer in the world to launch an HDMI-supported product.
The latest product under the PowerColor brand from Tul utilizes the ATI Radeon X1600 GPU and fully supports high-resolution displays. The PowerColor X1600 Pro HDMI features a system clock speed of 500MHz, a 128-bit memory capacity of 256MB GDDR3 with a clock speed of 450MHz.
