During his visit to Vietnam on April 21-22, Microsoft Chairman Bill Gates will have an online exchange with students at Hanoi University of Science and Technology, along with various other activities with the Vietnamese IT community.

At a regular press conference held on April 6 in Hanoi, Foreign Ministry spokesperson Le Dung announced that Microsoft Chairman Bill Gates will visit Vietnam from April 21-22 at the invitation of Prime Minister Phan Van Khai.
During the visit, President Tran Duc Luong and Prime Minister Phan Van Khai are expected to meet with billionaire Bill Gates.
However, Le Dung also noted that the working schedule for Bill Gates during this visit to Vietnam is still being arranged.
While in Vietnam, billionaire Bill Gates is expected to work with the National Steering Committee on Information Technology; participate in a television exchange and an online discussion with students at Hanoi University of Science and Technology; give speeches and engage with the business community and key partners of Microsoft; deliver a speech and participate in a television exchange and online discussion with the community of IT development experts; and visit Bac Ninh province to survey the application of information technology in rural areas.
According to Foreign Ministry spokesperson Le Dung, the Vietnamese government is always focused on investing in the development of the information technology sector. Vietnam also has a rich potential in IT human resources.
The Vietnamese government hopes that this visit by Microsoft Chairman Bill Gates will contribute positively to the development of the information technology sector in Vietnam and enhance economic, trade, and investment relations between Vietnam and the United States.
