The Microsoft Xbox 360, released on November 22, 2005, has created a sensation, sparking numerous discussions surrounding this entertainment console. The liquid cooling system from CoolIT Systems Inc. is the first accessory designed to help cool the Xbox 360, addressing the overheating issues.
Inside the Xbox 360, both the GPU and CPU are the primary causes of most hardware malfunctions due to overheating. The cooling fans of the Xbox 360 primarily focus on the IBM PowerPC CPU. This means that the PowerPC runs at very high temperatures and requires cooling, or the GPU is not adequately dissipating heat. Although Microsoft has improved the cooling system, the situation has not seen significant improvement. Furthermore, to make the system operate “silently,” Microsoft has slowed down the fans.
CoolIT Systems has designed a new cooling solution for the Xbox 360, allowing users to feel more secure about temperature issues when using the console. This cooling solution will transition from air cooling to liquid cooling using MTEC technology.
Introduced as the first liquid cooling device for the Xbox 360 at CES (Consumer Electronics Show) yesterday (January 4) in Las Vegas, CoolIT provided a comparison between its cooling device and the cooling components available in Microsoft’s Xbox 360.
