This gourd plant has produced a cluster of fruits resembling an “egg nest” surrounding the base, with a total of 36 fruits. The largest fruit is the size of an orange, while the smallest is comparable to a chicken egg.
This remarkable gourd plant belongs to Mr. Đặng Văn Phúc in Kỳ Phong commune, Kỳ Anh district, Hà Tĩnh province.
Mr. Phúc shared that he obtained the seeds for this gourd plant from a neighbor. He planted two seeds, but unfortunately, one of the plants did not survive.
Previously, this gourd plant had yielded 50 fruits, each the size of a glass jar. Recently, while harvesting, he discovered this peculiar “egg nest” gourd about 20 centimeters from the base of the plant.
