He stated: “Initially, I only had two small screens (14 inches), two sets of keyboards and mice, so I could only monitor two machines back and forth. This was generally sufficient for study, but it was very time-consuming and inconvenient because I had to constantly plug and unplug the peripherals.”
“A device like a KVM Switch saves me a lot of effort. I can sit in one place and comfortably work with all six computers; however, ideally, I would have enough space for six complete computer sets. Some tasks require monitoring and comparison.”
The KVM Switch is essentially a sequential switching device. The mouse and keyboard connect via USB to the switch, which connects directly to four computers through four USB ports. The monitor has a separate slot.
Currently, there are only devices using cables for communication; USB support is not yet available. Cable devices may exhibit a “lag” phenomenon, particularly in applications that demand fast image transitions and quick operations. According to IOGear, the KVM USB will address these weaknesses while offering a quicker and neater installation and usage experience.
