At 6:30 PM on April 24, in Văn Bàn district (Lào Cai), a heavy rain accompanied by a sudden hailstorm struck several localities in the district. Notably, in the communes of Khánh Yên Trung, Khánh Yên Thượng, and Văn Bàn town, two hailstorms lasted from 6:30 PM to 6:48 PM, with a thick intensity. The hailstones measured 2 to 3 cm in size, some as large as chicken eggs.
Currently, there are no specific statistics on the damage. Initial reports indicate some areas of crops and homes have been affected.
On the evening of April 24, in Văn Bàn district (Lào Cai), heavy rain and hail suddenly struck several localities.
In Sơn La province, around 4 PM on April 24, hail unexpectedly appeared, causing damage in Vân Hồ district. The hail mainly concentrated in Lóng Luông commune and some neighboring areas of Vân Hồ district.
The hail lasted for about 30 minutes, damaging vegetables and fruit crops of local residents.
Although the rain lasted a short time, a large amount of hail fell.
In Lóng Luông commune, Vân Hồ district (Sơn La), out of 9 villages, 7 were affected by the hailstorm. Although there were no casualties, over 20 homes in Lũng Xá and Tà Dê villages had their roofs damaged by the hail.
As for crop damage, there are no detailed statistics yet, but preliminary information indicates that areas growing peas, tomatoes, corn, chayote, plums, and peaches suffered considerable damage.
Today, several other localities in Sơn La province also experienced rain, downpours, and thunderstorms. Currently, authorities are compiling damage reports and focusing on disaster recovery efforts.

Earlier, on April 24 in Phú Thọ province, there were rain, thunderstorms, and hail in the province that caused damage to infrastructure and agricultural production amounting to over 9.6 billion VND.
Specifically, the rainfall in some areas of the province included: Xuân Thủy (Yên Lập) 73.2mm; Cẩm Khê 65.2mm; Yên Lập 52.4mm; Trung Sơn (Yên Lập) 50.4mm; Phú Thọ Irrigation Department 43.6mm; Lâm Thao 24.2mm.

According to a rapid report from the Natural Disaster Prevention and Search and Rescue Committee (PCTT&TKCN) of Việt Trì city and the districts of Lâm Thao and Cẩm Khê, the rain and thunderstorms damaged 11 houses in Lâm Thao district and 17 schools in Việt Trì city and Lâm Thao district; one health station in Việt Trì city lost its wall.
In agricultural production, 35 hectares of rice, corn, and crops were flattened in Lâm Thao district; 28 hectares of bananas were completely damaged. Additionally, 2 brick kilns in Cẩm Khê district lost roofs over approximately 7,000m2, 2 agencies in Lâm Thao district were affected, and 14 electric poles in Lâm Thao district were broken or toppled. The estimated total damage from the disaster is approximately 9.62 billion VND.
