On January 1st, Chinese scientists announced new images of Mars captured and sent back by the Tianwen-1 spacecraft.

The China National Space Administration stated that these new images showcase the diverse operational conditions of the probe as well as the surface terrain of Mars that the probe captured.
The images include photos of the orbiter and Mars, close-ups of the orbiter, ice in the northern polar region of Mars, and surface landscapes captured by the Zhurong rover.
The Tianwen-1 spacecraft from China, which consists of an orbiter, a lander, and a rover, was launched into space on July 23, 2020.
