Yesterday (June 5th), CMS introduced the CMS Sputnik S2 laptop, which utilizes Intel’s Yonah Duo Core “dual-core” technology.

The CMS Sputnik S2 is a high-end laptop packed with powerful features, but its most distinctive aspect is its ability to showcase the style and personality of its owner. The front of the Sputnik S2 is specially designed to accommodate a favorite frame chosen by the owner. Users can select from pre-existing designs provided by CMS or can customize their own design according to their preferences and style. The screensaver can be set to match the image displayed on the laptop’s cover, allowing users to change the front design as they wish.
The CMS Sputnik S2 features a compact size: 336 x 236 x 26.5 to 34 mm, weighing 2.4 kg. It boasts a high-resolution 14.1-inch wide-screen display with a wide viewing angle.
The speaker system of the CMS Sputnik S2 is positioned above the keyboard, delivering clear and accurate sound. Audio output ports are conveniently located at the front, making it easy for users to enjoy music. The 4-in-1 card reader supports various formats: MS, MS Pro, MMC, and SD. The Vega port on the left side of the laptop allows for connection to a projector for displaying text and documents during meetings. The DVD Combo drive enables reading DVDs and burning CDs. Network and modem ports are located on the left side of the device, with a USB 2.0 port in between to prevent incorrect connections. On the right side, there is a TV Out port, and two USB ports along with a 1394 port for connecting camcorders or digital cameras.
Additionally, the CMS Sputnik S2 is equipped with a 3945ABG wireless network card, facilitating Internet access in locations with wireless connectivity.
Technical specifications include: Intel Duo Core T2300 processor (2MB L2 cache, 2 x 1.66 GHz, 667 MHz FSB); Intel 945GM chipset; Wireless PRO 3945ABG (802.11a/b/g); 512MB DDR2 memory; 80GB SATA hard drive; DVD-Combo. The product is priced at 16,900,000 VND (including VAT).
