In a battle, if strength is lacking, then use intelligence.
The Crocodile, an animal renowned as the lord of swamps, is one of the most fearsome predators on Earth.
With terrifying strength and nearly perfect hunting skills, crocodiles can defeat any animal and are often the last ones standing in fierce battles.
To achieve this, crocodiles are endowed by nature with numerous advantages suitable for hunting, such as short, strong legs; a powerful, flat tail shaped like a paddle; and keen ears and nostrils that help them communicate and detect prey from afar. Their eyes can see clearly both day and night, making them versatile hunters.
Notably, the crocodile’s distinctive weapon lies in its extremely strong jaws, equipped with 24 sharp teeth that allow them to easily tear apart any prey, regardless of size.
Experts in wildlife have warned that while humans can stand against sharks, facing a crocodile leaves almost no chance of survival. Compared to sharks, crocodiles are estimated to be about 168 times more dangerous.
The Monitor Lizard originates from Africa, Asia, and Australia. They are characterized by long necks, strong tails, claws, and robust limbs. Their size and crawling speed are not drastically different from that of the Komodo dragon.
In the natural world, these two reptiles seldom encounter each other. This is due to differences in size and strength; however, in terms of agility and cunning, the monitor lizard is somewhat superior to the crocodile. A traveler named Mark Fox, during a visit to Kruger National Park in South Africa, witnessed an interesting encounter between these two reptiles.
The monitor lizard is observing the crocodile.
While crossing the Vurhami bridge, Mark’s group learned that a large female crocodile had chosen this spot to nest. Therefore, during their stay, they frequently visited to observe how the crocodile protected her eggs.
Unexpectedly, that day, Mark discovered that he was not alone; a monitor lizard was also watching the crocodile’s nest. Unlike Mark, the lizard seemed more focused on the eggs in the nest than on the crocodile. It was challenging for the crocodile to fully concentrate on guarding the nest while the monitor lizard spent so much time lurking around. Ultimately, in a moment of carelessness, when the crocodile moved away from the nest, the monitor lizard quickly dashed in and seized a tiny member from the nest.
