Aethlon Medical, an American biotechnology company, is developing a handheld device capable of removing viruses from the bloodstream, known as the Hemo-purifier. The Hemo-purifier resembles a miniaturized dialysis machine—essentially a blood filtration device for patients with kidney failure.
Both utilize a filter to eliminate toxins from the blood. However, unlike traditional dialysis, the Hemo-purifier incorporates antibodies derived from plants. These antibodies attach to various types of viruses and exclude them from the bloodstream.
Clinical trials are expected to commence in the United States by the end of this year.
