Colors have more power than we think. They can influence us significantly. By understanding the basic principles, we can use colors to improve our health and lives.
Every color has its own frequency
According to Eastern philosophy, the seven colors of the rainbow are crystallized from energy vibrating at seven different frequencies. Our bodies also have seven energy centers, each corresponding to these frequencies. Therefore, the unique vibrations of each color affect us, both physically and emotionally.
Balance your seven energy sources
When the energy emitted from the seven centers is balanced and strong, we feel vibrant and full of life. However, if they weaken or become disordered, we may feel unwell and anxious. Thus, colors can be used as a form of energy medicine.
To identify which color you are lacking, lay out seven cards in red, orange, yellow, green, blue, purple, and white in front of you. Close your eyes and rub your hands together for about 1-2 minutes. Take a deep breath and hover your hands above the cards (a few centimeters away) until you feel a pull towards one of the cards. That’s the color you need to supplement.
Exercises to balance your energy
You can “nourish” your energy with color exercises.
1. Color meditation: Spend 5-15 minutes in the morning and before bed. Take deep breaths and imagine a color of your choice enveloping you. With each breath, feel that color pouring into your head, flowing throughout your body, and radiating out through your feet.
2. Color placement: Find a piece of fabric in the color you want. Lie down and place it directly on the energy center you wish to balance. Breathe deeply while silently affirming that you are balancing your energy system. This simple exercise is very effective and should be performed for 5-15 minutes.
3. Breathing in colors: If possible, do this exercise outdoors or sit by a window and visualize the color you are thinking about. Breathe in the light of that color. Your thoughts will transform the energy of the air you are inhaling.
Red: This color interacts with the energy source at the base of the spine. Red is associated with fire and sexuality. If you have enough red, you will be insightful, calm, and dynamic. If you lack it, you may experience fear, self-destructive behaviors, or use the past to justify your actions.
Orange: Linked to the energy at the sacrum, in the middle of the abdomen. Orange governs instincts, desires, sexual life, and creativity. When you have enough orange, you will be friendly, optimistic, creative, and observant. If you lack it, you may feel irritable and vulnerable, living in isolation and struggling to trust others.
Yellow: Associated with the energy between the navel and the chest, related to the adrenal glands. This is the center for forming intentions, thoughts, and opinions. Yellow helps us achieve our goals. A sufficient amount will make you feel happy and strong. If you lack it, you may feel insecure, and your self-esteem may be burdened, often leading to feelings of despair.
Green: This color represents the energy of the heart, located in the center of the chest. It is linked with the thyroid and the lymphatic system. When this energy is balanced (with enough green), we become affectionate, likable, altruistic, and loving towards those around us. If you lack it, you may be suspicious and paranoid. During distress or anger, you may find it hard to calm down and feel pitiful.
Blue: This color is associated with the energy of the throat, linked to the thyroid gland. It relates to communication, knowledge, and wisdom. When you have enough blue, you will be wise, calm, and dynamic. This color also always guides us towards the truth. If you lack it, you may become cunning or shrewd, lacking self-control and consistency.
Purple: Interacting with the frequency of energy at the “third eye,” between the eyebrows, where it connects with the pituitary gland. This energy center is associated with knowledge and helps us develop intuition. When there is enough purple, one can learn from experiences. If you lack it, you may struggle to perceive things objectively and miss life’s messages.
White: Associated with the “crown” energy at the top of the forehead. White is related to the pituitary gland. This center is believed to influence the aging process. With an adequate amount of white, you will have a realistic perspective. If you lack it, you may become indecisive, living in conflict with your beliefs.
