Did you know that the fastest animals in the world can actually keep up with or even surpass most modern cars?
At the top of this list is the Bugatti Chiron Super Sport 300+, the first production car to reach a maximum speed of 489 km/h. The Super Sport 300+ is a limited edition of the Chiron, with only 30 units produced (priced at $4 million).
The Peregrine Falcon, also known as the Great Falcon, surpasses most sports cars by achieving a maximum speed of 389 km/h while diving from heights to hunt prey. This feat was accomplished in 2005 by a falcon named “Frightful”, and it was recognized by the Guinness World Records.
Also on the list is the Mexican Free-tailed Bat, weighing only 11 to 12 grams. These bats are considered the fastest mammals in the world; unlike the Great Falcon, the Mexican bat reaches its maximum speed entirely through wing power (not by diving).
