There are currently many tools specifically designed to convert various digital music formats to the popular MP3 format. However, it seems that most of these tools have completely “overlooked” MIDI, a once-renowned digital music format with millions of melodies available for free online.
Another unfortunate aspect is that hardly any digital music players today can play MIDI music. To address this shortcoming, Softpedia has introduced specialized software to convert MIDI music to MP3 called “MIDI To MP3 Maker,” a rare tool in the market.
“MIDI To MP3 Maker” features a friendly and incredibly simple interface. Users simply need to click the “Open” button to locate the MIDI file they want to convert to MP3, then click the “Convert” button to start the conversion process. The default folder for saving the newly created MP3 file will be the root directory C. After the conversion is complete, users can click “Play” to listen to the MP3 file. This tool is compatible with three MIDI music formats: midi, mid, and rmi.
MIDI is currently the smallest digital music file format, but when converted to MP3, its size can increase significantly compared to the original MIDI file. The conversion time can also be quite lengthy; for MIDI files just a few KB, it takes about one minute, while MIDI files around 100 KB can take nearly five minutes.
Perhaps due to its rare status, the price of “MIDI To MP3 Maker” is quite high, reaching up to $30 for a file size of less than 500 KB. Users can visit here to download the trial version. Currently, the latest version of MIDI To MP3 Maker is 3.0.70, available at software retail stores.
