A biomedical company based in Brisbane, Australia has recently tested a Covid-19 vaccine in the form of a skin patch, with hopes of bringing the product to market by 2025.

The Covid-19 vaccine in patch form is a small plastic patch covered with thousands of “micro-needles” or ultra-fine needles that contain just enough vaccine to penetrate the outer layer of the skin.
Currently, the patches have been tested on children to evaluate their reactions. During the testing process, the patch will adhere to the skin for about 2 minutes, but researchers hope this time can be reduced to around 10 seconds, making it quick and simple.
Unlike the current injectable Covid-19 vaccines, these patches do not require strict temperature control and can be used at home.
