The tears we shed in various emotional states contain many different chemical components (Image: wit.ie) |
Although they are all tears, the tears of a person facing misfortune, the tears of someone who has fallen ill after being exposed to the wind, and the tears of someone who has dust in their eyes are not the same. They encompass various chemical components.
The tears of an unfortunate person contain a substance known as “pain,” which can alleviate suffering. In other words, if someone is truly in distress and wants to cry but cannot, these tears can travel through the nasal passages into the stomach. Additionally, tears may contain harmful substances that can lead to ailments such as gastric ulcers, heart disease, or other circulatory system disorders.
Doctors have demonstrated through various studies that human tears shed during moments of sorrow have a relatively high protein content. This phenomenon occurs due to substances produced when individuals suppress their emotions, and tears help release these inhibiting substances, preventing people from suffering physical and mental harm.
Therefore, no matter how resilient we may be, when the need arises to cry, we should not force ourselves to hold back, as this can help avoid health issues.
