During the pandemic, Deanich Lodge became a “shining star” attracting tourists thanks to its remote geographic location.
Deanich Lodge is known by many nicknames such as “one of the loneliest lodges in the world” or “the most remote place in the UK,” due to its isolated geographic location from the rest of Scotland.
In fact, this house is located in a beautiful valley more than an hour’s drive north of Inverness, and is part of the Alladale Wilderness Reserve.
The house features a living room, dining area with an open space, a heating room, and a fully equipped kitchen, along with two large bathrooms and two toilets.
The lodge can accommodate up to 18 people, with 5 bedrooms including bunk beds and single beds.
The spacious, simple yet fully equipped house comes with a dedicated staff, always ready to meet any requests from guests. Guests are also provided with delicious meals featuring fresh vegetables picked from the garden, and venison – a favorite dish of the eagles.
Diners can enjoy their meals while gazing at nature through the dining room windows, with distant meadows and hills covered in flowers. “My family, along with our three young children and two dogs, had an unforgettable time here,” shared a guest.
The simplicity in the design of the house, the natural landscape, and the social distance help you escape the hustle and bustle of city life. You even have to walk up a hill to get a mobile signal.
Guests approach this lodge via a small road, and the means of transport to get here is a four-wheel drive due to the rough terrain. The scenery along the way is rated as spectacular, with crystal-clear streams flowing through lush green valleys.
The Alladale Wilderness Reserve covers 23,000 acres, located in the Scottish Highlands. It is described as having “the impressive lights of Alladale with colorful hills, sparkling rivers, and wildlife that will capture the hearts of visitors.” The reserve also offers several other lodges for guests to choose from.
Surrounded by majestic hills, here guests will encounter more deer than people, and eagles often soar across the sky.
