Witnessing the scene of monkeys drinking his beer, the fisherman could only watch from afar.
While fishing on an island in Chonburi Province, Thailand, Pichet Thitisuwat had his beer stolen by a group of monkeys.
The clip shows two thirsty monkeys pouring beer into their mouths and drinking it all, while Pichet and other onlookers stand back. One monkey even rested its head against a pole as if it were drunk.
Pichet recounted: “I was fishing and stopped at the island for lunch. We put the beer in the cooler and went down to the sea to catch squid, but when we returned, we discovered the monkeys had stolen it and drank it all.”
No one dared to reclaim the beer. The monkeys appeared aggressive, thinking we were stealing their food. Therefore, everyone could do nothing but watch them.
Wild monkeys in Thailand have become more aggressive in recent years due to tourists feeding them. This has led to several incidents, including monkeys biting people and stealing their belongings.
Macaque monkeys are the most common type of monkey in the country.
