Did you know: a lemon can accurately guess a person’s personality in just a few seconds.
Have you ever wondered if you are an extroverted person who enjoys the hustle and bustle, or someone who “is introverted and often cries silently”?
In fact, determining your own personality is not that simple. However, there is now a rapid and simple method to identify your personality that you can do at home. With just a lemon and a few simple tools, you can find out if you are an extrovert or an introvert.
Preparation
- Lemon
- Cotton swab
- A piece of string
Tools for the experiment.
Execution
First, tie the piece of string to the middle part of the cotton swab so that when you suspend it, the swab is balanced and does not lean to one side.
Tying the string to the middle of the cotton swab
Next, place one end of the cotton swab on your tongue, hold it for 20 seconds, and then release it.
Then, drop about 5 drops of lemon juice onto your tongue, swallow, and immediately place the other end of the cotton swab on your tongue, holding it for another 20 seconds.
Finally, remove the cotton swab and suspend it in the air using the pre-tied string. If both ends of the cotton swab remain balanced or show little change, you are an extrovert. If the swab leans towards the end that has saliva after swallowing the lemon, you are inclined to be an introvert.
How does the cotton swab “judge” your personality?
This is a simplified version of a classic research method developed by German psychologist Hans Eysenck in the 1960s.
In the original version, the Eysencks used sensitive measuring devices to determine the amount of saliva produced after candidates were exposed to lemon juice.
Through observation and analysis of the saliva produced, Hans Eysenck concluded that introverted individuals tend to produce more saliva than extroverted individuals.
This classic method was developed in the 1960s.
He explained that introverted individuals often feel anxious and cautious about everything. It is this constant vigilance towards their surroundings that leads them to be more reserved and less open to the outside world.
Introverted individuals often feel anxious and cautious about everything.
Thus, the most effective and simplest method to test whether someone has an introverted lifestyle is to measure the amount of saliva they produce.
According to psychological studies, humans tend to secrete bodily fluids when feeling anxious or scared. This is why colloquial expressions like “gulping saliva” or “breaking out in a sweat” are used to describe a person’s fearful state.
The simplest way to check if someone is introverted is to measure the amount of saliva they produce.
This is also the basis for Eysenck’s discovery of this unique personality assessment method. According to him, the decisive factor in determining whether a person is introverted or extroverted is the sensitivity to cortical stimulation.
People who are “introverted and often cry silently” tend to be more sensitive in life situations.
Those who “are introverted and often cry silently” tend to be more sensitive in various life situations and more astute in their thinking.
As a result, they tend to overthink, which can lead to persistent anxieties much greater than those of an average person.
