The images of a cat with two differently colored eyes, dubbed the “Diamond Eye Cat” due to one eye sparkling like a diamond, have excited Thai internet users, leading to rapid sharing. Within just a few days, these images received 1.5 million views and over 124,000 likes.
Thai people believe this cat brings good fortune, particularly in terms of wealth, so many have predicted numbers for the lottery draw on February 1. Among these, the most popular numbers are 4, 7, and 8, considered “lucky numbers” associated with the cat, according to the site The Nation Thailand.

According to animal experts, the “Diamond Eye” cat is a rare breed known as Khao Manee, which means “white gem.” This breed features very unusual eyes, each of a different color, with one eye sparkling and changing color when reflecting light, making it appear diamond-like. Because of its rare and unique appearance, this cat is believed to bring good fortune to its owner and those who come into contact with it. Historically, only the Thai aristocracy owned this breed.

While the diamond eye is a striking feature that makes this breed regarded as “attracting wealth,” recent studies suggest that this unique eye condition may not be a sign of luck for these cats, as it is actually a result of glaucoma.
The Khao Manee cat is one of the most expensive cat breeds in the world, with prices ranging from $5,000 to $10,000 (approximately 118 to 235 million VND).
As of now, it remains unclear if anyone has won the lottery based on the numbers associated with this cat.
