During the restoration of the Di tích đình làng Điền Trang (the Điền Trang village relic site) in Nghĩa Trung (Tư Nghĩa), on October 16, local elders discovered a Yoni right in front of the Xích Y shrine, which is part of this heritage site.

Solid stone Yoni.
The solid stone Yoni measures 43 cm in width, 53 cm in length, and 13 cm in thickness. There is no Linga present. Additionally, the elders also found six ancient stones used as column bases. Each stone has an average diameter of 40 cm and a thickness ranging from 18 to 20 cm, all made of coral stone.
Mr. Bùi Tá Hựu (80 years old) and Mr. Bùi Hữu Nhàn (68 years old), who co-led the restoration of the Điền Trang shrine, stated: “When we were working on the shrine’s courtyard, we encountered these stones, which were buried under about 10 cm of soil. At first, we didn’t know what they were, but after looking at photos of artifacts excavated from the Cham tower on Mount Thiên Bút, we realized this is a Yoni.”
PGS.TS Ngô Văn Doanh, an expert on Cham culture, provided an initial assessment: “If the Linga were still present, it would be easier to determine its significance. However, given that there are two separate Yoni and Linga, we can date this artifact to after the 10th century (meaning in the 11th century). From the photos, we can also see round stones, which may be ancient artifacts from the same period.”
