There was a guy who was quite simple-minded. Knowing this, before he became a son-in-law, his mother firmly advised him:
– Whatever your father-in-law does, you must follow his lead. Don’t just stand there and stare; people will laugh at you, do you understand?
Remembering his mother’s words, one day when his father-in-law was digging the ground, he rushed over to help and said:
– Let me do it for you.
The father-in-law happily handed over the hoe and then went to plant banana trees. Seeing this, the son-in-law ran after him and insisted that he would do that too.
This time, the father-in-law said nothing and went off to cut bamboo. The son-in-law ran after him and grabbed the knife. Frustrated because his son-in-law was taking over but not finishing any task, he decided to head home. On the way, the scarf on his head got caught on a bamboo branch, but he didn’t bother to take it off; he just kept walking. The son-in-law, not having a scarf, quickly took off his shirt and hung it on the bamboo branch, then hurriedly chased after his father-in-law home.
Once home, the father-in-law angrily stormed into the room and picked a fight with his wife:
– You fool! How could you choose such a crazy son-in-law? I couldn’t get anything done with him this morning!
The couple argued, and in the heat of the moment, he kicked his wife.
Just then, the son-in-law rushed in and, seeing this, also kicked his mother-in-law, sending her sprawling to the ground.
